Karma by Summer Walker

"Karma" is a meaningful song that reveals some details of what Summer Walker  experienced before becoming a famous music artist. It’s a very personal song that people love today, listening to its lyrics and interpreting their meaning.

Summer Walker acts like karma towards men who want her. Her idea is to be for those man a payback from life: those are men who mistreated other women, and now Summer. They temporarily fell in love with her. She wouldn't even fall in love with them, though. She would return them the same pain they gave to other women .

In other words, men appear to be crazy about Summer. But as for the latter, she obviously sees their relationship as more of a business or temporary type of arrangement.

Furthermore, the vocalist’s conscience is not bothering her for using guys in such a manner, so to speak. Why? That’s because the way she sees it, this is just “karma” coming back to bite them in the behind. Or explained otherwise, these selfsame men  really have tendency to mistreat women who would  rather love them. Then on top of that, they go about as if they are spotless. It's just shameful.

So Summer appears to derive some satisfaction from instead causing them to ‘lose their minds’, as this time around they’ve fallen in love with a lady who is even more playa-oriented than they are.

Lyrics of Summer Walker's "Karma"

She’s karma. She’s the entity through which life returns to those men the pain they inflicted to others. The experience she had that inspired this song was the job she did before becoming a R&B singer: which was a dancer in a strip club, and she was used to see men who came there, made offensive comments about her, or fell in love for one night and wanted to take her with them. In her eyes, those were the men that hurt other women. And for that reason, she will act like karma, being just a heartless dancer, taking their money and never getting involved.

"Let me dance for you, I’m sorry

You’ll wanna love me strong, then I’m gone

This feeling’s just for you and your wrongs

I am just here to do my job"

She will only do her job, and nothing more. You did what you did to other women, and never thought life would bite back. This time you’ll get nothing from me: I’ll run away before you’ll even realize it. That’s more or less, Summer’s idea of being karma for people who mistreat women.

'You can’t keep just doing them girls like that
Thinking that nobody finna bite back

Think I gotta run, boy, you don’t wanna be telling me
Take me to your momma house
I’m sorry if you never doubted me
But you should’ve doubted'

This is therefore the meaning behing Karma lyrics: whatever you do to the others, will get back to you in other forms. It’s the way karma works. And sometimes you have the exact feeling that here, now, karma is just acting through you.
